2. What data we collect

The calculator runs entirely in your browser. Inputs you enter (salary, raise amount, filing status, state, inflation rate) are never sent to a server. They are only used locally to compute results and may be encoded in the page URL if you choose to share or bookmark a calculation.

The following limited categories of data may be processed automatically when you load the site:

  • Server log data: our hosting provider Vercel records standard request metadata (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp) for up to a few days for abuse prevention and debugging. See Vercel's privacy policy.
  • URL state: the values you enter are appended to the URL (e.g. ?pay=55000&pct=5) so links can be shared. This is not transmitted to us; it lives only in your browser tab and any link you choose to share.
  • Static data files: the page fetches small JSON files (federal tax brackets, state tax tables, CPI inflation, SS wage base) from this site to power the calculations. These are static and contain no personal data.
